About this house sitting position in BLUEWATER PARK

OUR LITTLE CREW OF FEATHERED, WOLLY, FURRED MATES NEEDS A LIVE-IN HUMAN/S FOR A MONTH! 🐶🐔🐑
WHAT WE NEED – Three Mini Foxies to love, poultry to feed/water, sheep water to check, pool level to keep an eye on and someone actually living on the property each day/night
WHAT WE OFFER – Bring your van and set up with power, water and internet, or living arrangements inside the house can be organised. You’ll have access to shower facilities, A/C and the pool – an absolute bonus during a North Queensland summer!
DATES – Ideally, we’d love you to arrive before 26th December, potentially around the 24th or 25th, as we may set off earlier than originally planned. We’ll be celebrating Christmas with our family beforehand, so an earlier arrival isn’t an issue for us at all. In fact, it would be beneficial as it gives you time to settle in, get properly set up, meet the animals and become familiar with everything before we head off.
The sit will run through to and including 23rd January 2027.
So… we’re heading away over Christmas/New Year and looking for someone to come and call our little patch of Bluewater home for around four weeks.
If you’re available a little earlier than the 26th, even better- more then likely doing xmas earlier then usual
It would give us a chance to show you around, introduce you to everyone and let you get the hang of the place before we disappear.
Now, before I make this sound like you’re taking over a working cattle station… you’re definitely not. 😂
The biggest responsibility here is our three little Mini Foxies.
They’re loving little mutts who mostly just want someone around and a bit of TLC and attention. They don't need walking – believe me, they manage to get plenty of exercise doing their own thing around here!
They need to be let out in the morning, fed and loved, and then fed up and put to bed at night.
During the day? Go exploring!
Head into Townsville, go shopping, visit the beaches, waterfalls, swimming holes, go for a drive or just float around in our pool and enjoy doing absolutely nothing.
We don't expect someone to be chained to the property 24/7.
What we DO need is someone who comes home each day and is here overnight with our animals. That's really the whole reason we're looking for a sitter rather than relying on family and friends popping in.
Then there’s the poultry. They need their normal day-to-day feeding and watering.
We also have sheep. At that time of year there should be more than enough feed around for them, so you're not going to be carting feed around every day. Mainly, it's just making sure they have water and keeping an eye on them.
And then there's the pool.
Nothing exciting there either – just keeping an eye on the water level so there's enough water for the filtration system to do its thing.
Really, the biggest qualification we're looking for is COMMON SENSE
If you've turned a hose on… remember at some stage that you've turned the bloody thing on and go turn it off. 😂
If something suddenly doesn't look, sound or feel right… investigate it.
If you're travelling with a caravan or van, you're welcome to pull up here and hook into power and water.
If van life isn't your thing, living arrangements inside the house can be organised too.
There's a shower, A/C, water, power, internet and, most importantly at that time of year in North Queensland… A POOL! ☀️💦
So after you've completed the enormous task of feeding three little dogs and some chooks, monitoring the sheep, you're more than welcome to throw yourself in it.
We're around 20 minutes from Coles and everyday conveniences and roughly 30 minutes from the main shopping centres and attractions around Townsville, 5/10 mins from creeks and beaches so you're certainly not out in the middle of nowhere.
This could really suit a single person, couple or family wanting somewhere to base themselves for a decent stint while exploring Townsville and North Queensland.
It may also suit travellers who are happy to slow down for a month, unpack properly, have some space around them and enjoy having a home base instead of moving every few days.
You don't need to be an experienced farmer
You DO need to be comfortable around animals, reliable, observant and have a bit of a "she'll be right, I'll work it out" attitude when something simple needs dealing with.
And, of course, we want someone who will genuinely care about our animals while we're gone
This is an unpaid house/farm sit
We're offering the place, facilities, power/water and somewhere to call home for the duration in exchange for looking after our animals and keeping an eye on things. So if you're looking for paid farm work, this isn't that.
References would be IDEAL
Our animals and our home mean a lot to us, so we need to know we're leaving them with the right person/ people.
If you're already around Townsville, Bluewater or travelling through beforehand, we'd much rather you come out and have a look before committing.
Meet us. Meet the three little ratbags. Meet the rest of the crew. Walk around the property. See where you'd be staying and exactly what's expected.
That way you're not saying yes to something you've only seen in a Facebook post – and we get the chance to meet the person, couple or family who'll be calling our place home while we're gone.
At the end of the day, it's really not that hard.
We just need someone present, someone who loves animals, someone with a bit of common sense and someone we can trust to keep an eye on our little patch while we go away and enjoy ours.
