Fancy spending a couple of months in the beautiful Hunter Valley, NSW?

We need a house sitter from 23 August 2026 until 18 October 2026.

Our home is in Bolwarra Heights, just outside Maitland. It is a large, one storey, flat modern house. The spare room is large with a double bed. We have a home gym which you would be welcome to use, a large kitchen/family room, a formal lounge and a well-stocked library. There is plenty of parking, suitable for a caravan/motorhome on our driveway.

Your primary duty would be to look after our chickens. At present we only have two elderly hens but by August there may only be one or none. Their coop has an automatic door which opens in the morning and closes at night. The chickens will spend the day in their secure enclosure and return to the coop at dusk. You would just need to replenish food and water and clean out the coop every couple of weeks.

Other duties would include:
Collecting the mail. Watering a few pot plants. Watering some bushes/small trees if it doesn’t rain. Mowing the grass (we have a zero-turn lawnmower). Keeping the house secure. Ensuring the house is clean and tidy for when we return.
