About this house sitting position in BRUNSWICK

We love our home. It is in one of the best locations of the inner north of Melbourne. A quiet street. Trams and buses are a 3-minute walk, trains a 10-minute walk, and its close to major bicycle commuting routes. We have several parks within 3-10 minute walking distance. We are a 3-minute walk from a small shopping centre (supermarket, fruit and vegetables, takeaways, bakery etc) and a 15-minute walk from wonderful Sydney Road with its multitude of diverse shops and community services.

Our house is semi-detached and has two levels. We have three bedrooms - the main bedroom has a queen size bed, while the other rooms are set up as study and study/spare bedroom (single bed). We have a light filled open plan living area and a great functional kitchen - super if you love cooking. There are two bathrooms and a separate laundry. We also have small front and rear gardens and a garage (currently set up for table tennis and bike storage). We have split system air-conditioning and heating in the living area, the main bedroom and the study.

We have two cats. George is an overweight tabby who lives downstairs, spends time in the garden when we are home, and loves to sit on us when we are watching TV. Mia is a tiny and timid little black cat who mostly lives upstairs and is not allowed outside. She likes to soak up sun on cold days and - unfortunately - sleep on our bed on cold nights. She is very sweet, but also a bit anxious.

We are looking for a house minder who will care for the cats (feed and clean up after them), look after some indoor plants, keep our home clean and tidy, put out the bins, collect the post, and let us know about any maintenance issues. There is opportunity to help maintain the garden, but this is not essential. We have solar panels so it would be ideal to have someone who is happy to consider timing of appliance use to maximise solar-energy use - but again, not essential. Read more...
