A peaceful month-long lakeside escape, just 90 minutes from Sydney — with sweeping views over beautiful Lake Munmorah, bikes, kayaks, spring weather and one very sweet tabby for company.

This is an easy, relaxed sit in a private home overlooking the lake, ideal for a remote worker, a couple, or anyone wanting a quiet Central Coast base with nature, beaches and cafés nearby.

We’re looking for a caring and reliable sitter for Molly, our beautiful six-year-old tabby, while we head overseas in late August.

Molly has the perfect cat personality — independent enough not to be in your lap all day, but affectionate enough to curl up with you on the couch in the evening or in front of the fire. She’s sweet, easy-going and low maintenance, and will happily keep you company from a metre or two away while you work before rewarding you with cuddles at night.

Care is simple: feeding, letting her in and out during the day, and making sure she is brought inside each afternoon and settled in her cosy bed in the internal garage overnight — her favourite sleeping spot. If the weather is very dry, we may also ask for a little light garden watering, but we can talk through this before confirming. This sit would suit someone who works from home, is around for part of most days, or simply wants a relaxed, easy sit with a lovely, undemanding cat for company.

Our split-level home sits well back from the street with complete privacy, off-street parking and sweeping views over Lake Munmorah. The home has lovely light throughout the day in different spots, with beautiful morning light on the deck and main balcony — perfect for coffee, a good book, or watching the swans and pelicans drift past on the lake.

Inside, there is a comfortable lounge with gas fireplace, dining area and fully equipped kitchen with oven, induction cooktop, microwave and coffee machine. The master bedroom is private and peaceful, opening onto its own upper balcony with tree and lake views. There are also two study areas, making the home ideal for remote work or for anyone who likes having space to spread out.

The location is a real highlight. We’re around 90 minutes from Sydney, with the beautiful Budgewoi Lake bike path close by — flat, scenic and perfect for exploring at a relaxed pace. Bikes are available for use on the lake path, and kayaks can also be used on the lake. There are also lovely paperbark-lined walking tracks nearby, along with beaches, rock pools, cafés, restaurants, pubs and local shops. September brings lovely spring weather, ideal for enjoying the lake, beach and outdoors.

We need someone we can genuinely trust with Molly and our home. This would be a wonderful month-long stay for someone who enjoys cats, nature, lake views and a peaceful Central Coast base.
