About this house sitting position in Burwood

Hi there - needing a homebody or two to say with my dog!

Toohey has a bit of isolation anxiety & doesn't do well when left alone for longer than an hour or two (there are particular actions and words to say that make departures easier on him that I'll teach you). A sitter who appreciates the importance of not extending him beyond his threshold for solo-time, will be a great fit. He will need a walk each day, and feeding twice a day.

If you work away from the home full-time, or want to spend whole days exploring the area, this will not be a good fit. I need a sitter who can keep him company.

Toohey travels well in the car in his crate, or smaller cars in his harness. He is vocal if left alone in a vehicle.

He is dog-reactive (fear based). On walks, you'll do best to avoid dogs on either side of the road - keeping them out of his line of sight where possible, turning back and just walking the other way if you see one coming. He is perfectly safe around children, but may knock little ones down with his enthusiasm to greet and lick.

This ideally suits someone who is happy to stay-in just relaxing, cooking, studying, watching netflix etc. and is happy to feed him, walk him, is tolerant of him wanting to cuddle up on the couch (not required though). He is not to sleep on human beds - he has one of his own and can either sleep in my room, or in yours with you if you'd like to move his bed in there with you.

I'm in a quiet street of Burwood but also very close to Burwood One shopping complex, Burwood Brickworks and the Burwood highway is 400m away with the 75 tram. I am close to the beautiful Wattle Park and that's where I normally walk Toohey.

You will have your own room (double bed), NBN (fibre to the home), gas ducted heating, and air conditioning. There is a large tv with a chromecast in the lounge. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with handrails, and it is a single level house with secure back yard.

You are free to use my laundry supplies and of course spices/oils in the kitchen, condiments, & tea.

Most experienced dog owners find Toohey is actually very easy to manage, and walks very well when mindful about his dog reactivity issues. He makes an excellent couch cuddle buddy. He lives for pats and cuddles (but I ask that you don't pat him or make a fuss right before leaving him - make it 'no big deal').
