House & Cat Sitter Wanted – Carindale, Brisbane

I’m looking for a reliable, experienced cat lover/house sitter to stay in my home in Carindale, Brisbane, while I am away.

This is an accommodation in exchange for house and cat care arrangement and may suit someone looking for a comfortable temporary base in Brisbane.

The accommodation itself is quite special: a large oversized bedroom with its own ensuite, in an authentic 1970s mid-century modern home with garden views and a swimming pool.

The house is in a very convenient Carindale location, within walking distance of a major public transport interchange, as well as Westfield Carindale, shops, parklands and other amenities.

The most important part of the arrangement is caring for my cats. Some of them are Ragdolls and several have long coats, so I’m specifically looking for someone who understands long-haired cats and is comfortable with regular grooming.

Their care includes:

* Feeding and keeping fresh water available
* Maintaining litter trays
* Spending time with them and providing companionship
* Regular brushing and grooming
* Checking their coats carefully for tangles
* Gently removing small knots before they become larger mats
* Letting me know promptly if there are any concerns

They are much-loved household pets, so I’m looking for somebody who genuinely enjoys living with cats rather than someone who is simply looking for accommodation.

The arrangement is intended as a temporary house sit while I finalise a longer-term accommodation arrangement, so dates can be discussed depending on availability and the right fit.

Basic care of the home would also be appreciated, such as keeping things tidy, bringing in mail/parcels and generally making sure the property is occupied and looked after.

Because you would be staying in my home and caring for my animals, I would like to meet beforehand and would prefer someone with house-sitting/pet-sitting references, identification and ideally a police check or other verification.
