A low maintenance 8 week sit!
I'm looking for a cat lover.
My home is a cosy 2 bedroom miner's cottage with oodles of charm. There is a gas heater in the kitchen, and electric oil heaters in the other rooms. This makes for a warm winter retreat. The large hot water system provides instant hot water and allows for long luxurious showers (if you are that way inclined).

I have fast unlimited wifi, so it's great for anyone who wants to work or study from home.

Across the road are walking tracks that wind through lovely landscapes populated with kangaroos. My house is 2.5 km from the train station with trains every hour (or less) into Melbourne. There is a bus stop about 50 metres away from my house. I am 2.5kms from the town centre and only 200 metres from the lively weekend market.

I have a very affectionate and adorable cat, called Amazon, who loves company and lots of cuddles. She is a indoor/outdoor cat, but quite the home-body during winter.

My garden pretty much takes care of itself during the winter. I will get a gardener to come and mow the backyard while I'm away. I have four indoor plants that need minimal watering.

I have a fully self-contained studio in my backyard (it is well separated from my house) where I have a lovely young tenant living. She takes care of my cat when I'm away on short trips. However, in this case I will be away for 8 weeks over winter and I think it is a bit too much to ask of her to look after her own little place as well as mine. This means that if my house-sitter would like to take short trips, this is possible because my tenant can feed Amazon while they are away. Read more...
