About this house sitting position in Craignish

We are seeking a house sitter from 20 December 2025 to look after our house, and a very friendly 5 year old Blue Heeler/Border Collie and ginger cat.

Dates are flexible i.e. we have someone who can look after the pets for a day or two around 20/12 and our return date is not yet set (will be before your arrival). It is likely to be a two or three week house-sit.

The house is in Craignish, on a couple of acres but no animals other than those mentioned to look after. Close to beach and shops, 10 min to Hervey Bay. We also have a pool that you are welcome to use.

As we both work from home, our dog is used to having people around. Whilst we don't expect you to stay home with him all day, every day, we also don't want someone who will use our house as a base and leave him alone all the time. He is very happy so long as he has someone home to follow around (and sleep next to) during the day. Having said that, he sleeps all day so if you do want to go out for a few hours, he is fine on his bed in "his room". He also likes car trips and the beach so you are welcome to take him on your adventures. Despite his active breed, he is a very placid and lovable guy who just loves company and cuddles. At night, he sleeps in his room and you will not hear a peep from him.

As for the cat, he will come and go. He likes to hide under beds and in cupboards, especially in a storm. He will decide if he wants to be your friend or not!

Garden is low maintenance. Just a bit of watering. Maybe lawn mowing around the house if we get a lot of rain - we have a ride-on. The paddock will not need mowing.

Plenty of room to park a caravan. If you are bringing a caravan, let us know if you intend on staying in the caravan or house please.
