About this house sitting position in Dayboro

We are looking for someone, or a couple, to stay at our home on two acres to look after our beautiful dog and chickens. Along with a lovely view and yard, our house has two home offices with double screens so it is perfect for anyone who works from home. We also have a projector for movie nights and a fire place for the cooler nights. You would be staying in our guest room which has a queen bed and built in wardrobe.

Our dog is a 9 year old mixed-breed rescue who loves a cuddle. While she loves company, she's more than capable of staying at home on her own for the day if you go out exploring the area. She is dog reactive so we walk her at non-peak times. She's otherwise very happy if you spend time out the back with her throwing her ball. Our chickens are low maintenance and free range the property. All they ask is that you open up the coop in the morning, shut it at night (they make their own way to bed when it's time)and make sure their water and food is topped up. They will reward you with fresh eggs in return. Our dog is well-trained around the chickens so they can be around each other.

Because of the time of year, there won't be a need for mowing other than perhaps the small house yard. We would just need our vegetable gardens and house plants watered. You would have access to whatever veggies are growing and any fruit that is in season from our orchard. We have some beehives on the property that won't require any attention and are very far away from the house so they won't bother you at all.

Our house is a few minutes drive (or an easy walk) into town. Dayboro is a lovely little town with a chemist, IGA, pub, cafes, public pool, gym and pilates studio. Brisbane city is less than an hour drive and an hour by public transport (I do this three times a week for work by driving to Petrie station and getting an express train into the city). Read more...
