Two week house-sit:
Beautiful country house on 1 acre right on shore of Esperance Bay, Dover - southernmost town in Tas.

Beach just in front of house. Very warm sunny home renovated in 1940s style - huge country kitchen (all mod cons), extensive book & film libraries, (including many TV series), sun room & deck overlooking bay, huge covered back deck and bbq area. All very comfortable.

Incredible views, walks, wilderness photography, fishing, boating on Tasmania's smoothest designated sea water. Excellent fishing in front of house, in bay, or 500m walk to river mouth - all right on our doorstep.

Large veg & flower gardens. Free veggies in exchange for light weeding/watering if necessary. Chooks (free eggs) need feeding in morning, letting out in afternoon and locking up at night (if not permanently locked in covered run because of bird flu). 2 sheep using four paddocks -self sufficient except for necessary water checks and re-fills.
Possible mowing - may not be necessary. (If it is, 2 hours all up.)
3 sets of fish need daily feeding. Indoor plants need watering every 3 days or so.

Much prefer sitters who are currently already in Tasmania - this is to minimise any possible ferry booking issues with vehicle from mainland/flight cancellations*
* We add this because of past experience of such problems.).

Looking for a retired, NON-SMOKING couple WITHOUT pets (quite definite on these two counts) who positively want to eat from veggie garden in exchange for the light maintenance required - weeding and watering if necessary, plus harvesting whatever is on.

Would suit old fashioned couple, or couple that would like the experience of a 'Golden Ponds' retreat.
We have been sharing our home in this way with our marvellous assorted sitters for 25 years. The experience has been great for all concerned.

Sitter references can be emailed. Please include phone number and personal email. We always like sitters to arrive the day before we leave to learn the ropes. Our dates include that. Also, with sitters hopefully being already in Tasmania in this case, we would like to arrange a pre-visit here some time before the actual sit dates.
