About this house sitting position in Dunlop

Hello,

My hubby and I (and 2 kids) are looking for a house and pet sitter to take care of our home/garden, our dog Milo and suburban chooks over the Summer holidays (14 Dec 2026 - 24 Jan 2027).

We live in beautiful Canberra with lovely walks and Brindabella views practically on our doorstep.

Our dog Milo is a Spookalier (a mix between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Cocker Spaniel and Toy Poodle). He's an inside dog with access to the backyard via a doggy door. He loves to be walked. Our chickens need minimal care - let them out into the run during the day and lock up at night, collect and enjoy some of their beautiful fresh eggs.

Our garden is still getting established so requires watering particularly in the heat.

We also have a heated magnesium plunge pool for your enjoyment during those summer days and nights.

Overall, we're looking for a sitter that takes good care of our animals, keeps our home safe and secure, stays in touch such as sending updates or photos, and returns the house as left.

Their home was comfortable, well-organised, and a lovely place to stay. Milo was an absolute joy to look after—friendly, affectionate, and full of personality. He quickly became a highlight of our stay, and we loved spending time with him on walks and at home. The chickens were also easy to care for and added a charming touch to the daily routine. Alyce gave us clear instructions but also let us know that Milo was easygoing and we could adapt to our routine which made everything straightforward and stress-free. It was clear how much they care about their home and animals. Overall, this was a fantastic house sit, and we would happily return in the future. Highly recommended to anyone considering sitting for them!”

“Awesome house sitting! Milo is the sweetest dog I care for in 3 months, always keen for a quick walk, play in the garden or for a cuddle. He just love to have company all day long ? The house is lovely and really cosy (the bed is amazing!). I felt at home immediately. There's multiple walks all around with really nice views especially at sunset. Woolies at 7min by foot. Gym at 15min by bus. Alyce and his partner were quite relax and accommodating (thanks again for the lift). I recommend without hesitation! ?”

“This was our first ‘official’ house sit and it could not have been any better. Lovely couple with a young family, and their dog Milo was gorgeous. Milo is easy to care for and loves attention. The chooks kept to themselves pretty much ? Easy walk to shops and bus stop. Short drive to major shopping centre. Well cared for home in a quiet neighborhood. Jenni and Greg were wonderful house sitters! Communication was fantastic and they took such great care of our home and animals. They even bathed our dog Milo, and prepped a meal for our return, which was so thoughtful and kind. Our house was spotless when we returned.
