About this house sitting position in Franklin
We are currently overseas and need to replace our current house sitter. We’re looking for someone to start asap until 23 Sept.
House - We live in a 3-bedroom
house with an enclosed garden in a quiet, suburban street. We need the house sitter to bring mail in, take bins out each week and maintain our garden as well as our indoor plants. It’s all very low maintenance. We have a home office which can be used by the house sitter. The other two rooms are our bedroom and our son's bedroom. We have one ensuite and a second bathroom including a bath. We also have ducted heating and cooling.
We live close to the Gungahlin Town Center, either a 5 mins drive or 20mins walk. We are also close to the tram with a 15mins walk. We have some beautiful ponds in walking distance too.
Pets - we have two pets, one cat called Oslo and one dog called Gnocchi.
Our cat Oslo is 6 years old and very easygoing. He keeps to himself and if he wants some attention, he will make it known. He is an indoor cat and is not allowed outside. Oslo will need to be fed every night (he has a pet feeder for breakfast so you don’t have to get up early) and have his litter cleaned and water freshened daily. It is important to keep his litter clean and his water fresh as he had a couple of urine blockages that required hospitalisations. Therefore we would also ask you to keep and eye on his urine output and ensure he urinates daily. We haven’t had any issues in over two years, so if the routine is kept up I don’t anticipate any issues.
Our dog Gnocchi is a 4-year-old Schnoodle. He is full of energy and craves lots of interaction with his humans. He is very loving and affectionate. He does have some anxious tendencies so needs some extra attention at times. Gnocchi is an indoor dog and needs to be walked daily for at least 20 minutes. He loves going for walks. He needs to be fed in the morning and the evening. Gnocchi is good with other dogs. As Gnocchi is an indoor dog, he can’t be left alone for more than 5 hrs at a time.
We do not ever hit, shame or yell at our pets. The house sitter needs to be gentle and caring and use positive training methods. Any abusive behavior towards our pets will be reported. I think this comes without saying, but just to be sure.
The house sitter - we are looking for a house sitter who aligns with the above requirements. Someone clean, reliable and trustworthy. A caring individual, that will spoil our pets while we’re away. As we live in a quiet, suburban home, we can’t have any parties or loud gatherings. Respect for our home, our pets and our privacy is pivotal. This house sit would suit someone who likes to spend time at home, go for walks and loves the company of pets.
Watering the garden and taking the bins out please.
No additional people to stay at our house unless prior confirmed and discuss with us.
We look forward to your application. Read more...
