About this house sitting position in Googong

THE JOB: Principally the care of 2 small dogs in need of love and attention whilst owners are on holiday. Secondarily, would be great if you could collect our parcels and water the plants whilst you stay :)

THE INMATES: Both our dogs have access inside at all times, but can be restricted to certain parts of the house if needed. They eat a vet prescribed diet.

1. WONK is a male Maltese terrier - 14 YRS. Alert barker but will give you everything we own for a belly rub. No teeth and a cheeky personality. Loves to sit on laps or lay in the sun

2. BUN is a female Pomeranian X - approx 10 YRS. Rescue dog ex-puppy mill. Bun is 100% deaf, fluffy and desperate for your attention. She will follow her friendly humans anywhere.

THE PERKS: Doggie snuggles and licks plus a stay in our brand new home (build finished in Sept 2023) - large entertaining spaces, chef's kitchen, streaming services, library. Did we mention snuggly dogs? Pet lovers are a must!

ABOUT YOU: You will be a non-smoker with a love of animals, and happy to have them inside and with you whenever you are home. Families will be considered as long as any children can understand the specific needs of rescue dogs (especially given Bun is deaf) such as no fast movements or rough treatment. You will not have a cat yourself, but we may consider a dog visitor as long as they are also a smaller breed (Wonk gets a bit defensive with other bigger dogs).

ABOUT THE LOCAL AREA: We live in Googong - a self-contained township which will eventually have around 6,500 homes.

We’re located near the Googong Dam on Old Cooma Road in New South Wales, just 16km from Parliament House in Canberra and 4km south of Jerrabomberra.

In Googong itself, there’s already plenty to keep you outdoors, including six playing fields, eight playgrounds, a pump track, skate park, basketball court, six netball courts, two dog parks and two tennis courts.

The Googong Foreshores Nature reserve is right next door, so while you’re here, make sure you go fishing and kayaking on Googong Dam, swimming at The Cascades or White Rocks Reserve, or mountain biking, running or hiking the many trails in the area.

ABOUT US: We are a family of 3 Gingers heading off on a cruise holiday for Christmas. Papa Ginger is a former professional chef, current public servant by day, music photographer by night. Mumma Ginger is also a public servant with an embarrassingly large book collection. Veenie Ginger is a precocious 7 year old who loves Lego, space and Pokemon.
