About this house sitting position in Hackett

We are a family of five living in a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house complete with backyard on a suburban street within Canberra's inner north. While away, we are looking for someone to keep our 8 year old dog company (Tashi, a tibetan spaniel) as well as keep an eye on our four chooks.

The house is comfortable and easily accommodates our three teenage boys, as well as the occasional visit from extended family. Added on to the existing house is a 'retreat' that includes a separate cooking area, living space, bedroom and bathroom that is usually drenched in sunlight. It's where our in-laws usually stay during visits to Canberra.

Our dog, Tashi, is low maintenance. She enjoys the company of others, often hanging around like a shadow unless a sunbeam catches her attention. We tend to walk her once a day, where she likes to remind larger dog breeds that she may be small but her bark is mighty. She does have a arthritic back, so does require a pill twice a day to keep her comfortable.

Having lived in the house for over 15 years, we have a lovely relationship with our neighbours who can help out with any questions. The house is a 5 minute walk to the local shops and bus station, and a ten minute walk to a nature reserve where you can walk to the top of Mount Majura and take in Canberra's sights. Read more...
