About this house sitting position in Hampton
Our home:
We live in a comfortable, single-level three-bedroom home in Hampton, one of Melbourne’s bayside suburbs.
The house is in a great location for enjoying both the local area and Melbourne. We’re around a 20-minute walk from the beach and approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the Sandringham train line, with trains taking around 25 minutes into Melbourne’s CBD.
There are plenty of local parks and walking options nearby, including the much-loved Thomas Street Reserve at the end of our street, as well as several off-leash dog ovals within walking distance.
Our home includes:
- Master bedroom with king-size bed, Sleeping Duck mattress and ensuite
- Second bedroom with a single bed that can be converted to a queen-size bed
- Third bedroom with a king-single bed
- Main family bathroom
- Separate powder room/toilet
- Fully equipped kitchen with stovetop, oven and coffee machine
- Outdoor kitchen and BBQ
- Ducted heating and air conditioning throughout
- Private off-street driveway parking
- Front lawn (artificial grass) and decked rear courtyard
- Garage available for storage, but not vehicle parking
- Five adult sized bikes available for use
It’s an easy, comfortable home to settle into, with the beach, parks, cafés, shops and public transport all within easy reach.
Our dogs:
The main responsibility of the sit is caring for our two much-loved Spoodles, both under 10 kg each.
One is seven years old (Dottie) and the other is three (Maggie). They are affectionate, companionable dogs who love being around their people and are happiest when they have company for a good part of the day.
They enjoy a daily walk and there are plenty of easy walking options straight from the house.
Our younger dog can be quite anxious, so we are looking for someone who is confident and comfortable with dogs, patient, and happy to maintain their normal routine. For this reason, this sit would not be suitable for families travelling with young children.
We are also looking for a sitter who will genuinely enjoy spending time with the dogs rather than being away from the house for long periods every day. Of course, we expect you to get out and enjoy Melbourne and the local area. Depending on the length of the sit, we may also arrange a regular day at their usual dog daycare, which keeps some consistency in their routine and gives the sitter a completely dog-free day.
What we’re looking for:
Ideally, we’d love someone who:
- Is experienced and confident caring for dogs
- Understands that one of our dogs can be anxious and benefits from consistency and reassurance
- Is likely to be around the house for a reasonable part of most days
- Will enjoy taking the dogs for their daily walk
- Is happy maintaining their usual feeding and general routine
- Will treat our home as their own and keep it clean and secure
We think the sit would particularly suit an individual or couple who enjoys dogs, walking and a relaxed bayside lifestyle, while still having easy access to central Melbourne. Read more...
