About this house sitting position in HEATHMONT
Hello :-) We’re a friendly family with 2 parents, 2 kids and 2 dogs living in a beautiful and comfortable home in a quiet court overlooking and adjoining a nature reserve. We love books, nature, cycling, games and cooking.
We’re looking for someone wanting a quiet New Year's Eve at our home with our snuggly dogs while we take our kids for a mini trip (1night 2-day stay) in city to see the big fireworks for the first time. NO garden care or dog walks required given short duration. (But if you love walks and gardening you're very welcome).
Timing is flexible, but likely approx midday 31st to midday on the 1st. We prefer a nonsmoker and someone that can also dog&house sit Sat 1 March morning - Sun 2 March evening when we go to the coast to celebrate my dad's birthday with my sisters and their families.
We have 2 small, well-behaved, non-shedding dogs (cavoodles) that enjoy our secure backyard, and leisurely short-medium walks each day, which they usually spend sniffing everything. Annie the little blond is 6 years and only 4kg and Chewie (Chewbacka) the ruby-brown is 10 months old and 7kg. They are both desexed, and spend most of their days napping. They adore children - including toddlers - and adults of all ages, often wanting to curl up in laps of friends and family when they visit. We'll walk them before and after our holiday, but if you want to walk them too, they'll love it!
We live in a brand-new, very comfortable, sustainable, accessible and stylish home in a quiet court with friendly and quiet neighbours. (It's our forever home - the knockdown rebuild of our first home, which we plan to raise our children in and grow old in). 3 bedrooms, 2 living areas, 2 bathrooms, secure internal garage, spacious open plan kitchen-living dining that opens onto large alfresco deck with bbq which also overlooks the beautiful nature reserve which you can access via gate in our back fence.
House is fully accessible (walk-in/wheel-in shower, wider than usual doorways, no internal steps etc), and all electric with separate heating and cooling systems for each room.
Our home is just a 5min walk from local shops (cafes, IGA supermarket, newsagents, hairdressers and more) and train station that takes you to Melbourne CBD (a 37min ride during peak hour, stopping all stations off-peak times). Ringwood, the next station along, has large shopping centre with cinema, dining, bowling, big supermarkets, clothes and hobby shops… GP, dentist and vet a 10min walk from our front door.
We’re also just 6km from the sights and hiking trails of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, 30mins from hills and wineries of the Yarra Valley and 40 minutes to Seaford beach and just a bit further to all the other gorgeous spots on Mornington Peninsula. We're also near many of the best cycling paths in Melbourne - 200m from Belgrave Rail Trail, 1km from Dandenong Creek Trail, 1.2 from Tarralla Creek Trail, about 3km from Mullum Mullum Trail. The list goes on. Bike borrowing may be an option. Read more...
