About this house sitting position in Highland Park
We are moving into a new home in Highland Park (Gold Coast). It is a two story house with the living area on the top floor. on the top floor there is the kitchen/dining and open plan living area - opens to a balcony which has views to the surfers skyline (we are 11km from Broadbeach). The house has air con in the main living area and fans in all rooms. Upstairs is the master and second bedroom and main bathroom (with bath). Downstairs there is a large living area/bed with an ensuite however this will be used as storage. There is a double garage however it will also be full. There is a large yard - but the dogs will 99% be inside with you. We have two beautiful dogs, Buddy who is a 9yr white german shepherd who is a beautiful soul however he does suffer from anxiety which displays as timidness and he can be a bit jumpy if he hears a loud noise. He is scared of bikes and prams so when walking on the lead he sometimes stops to let them pass. He is ball obsessed and loves his toys. He loves his daily walk (or as many as he gets!) and he happily spends the rest of the time sleeping inside. He likes air con in the heat! Winnie, is a 4yr old alaskan malamute - she is a typical mal, very relaxed and happy, confident and strong willed. She loves to sing - if you want her to! She too is one to enjoy lying around all day except for her walk - she is a long hair mal so likes air con too. Both of the dogs shed - so you need to be OK with dog hair. We have a fabulous Dyson though! The dogs are used to having us home most of the time so leaving them for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week isn't going to be the right fit. They can be left alone for hours at a time though. A typica walk on the lead with them is 45min-60min. While I do take them off lead - for the time you are looking after them I think it's best for them to stay on lead. They get fed once a day at night, they get dog treats and carrots as treats. The are not barkers - although Buddy will bark if someone comes to the door. we would need to meet a couple of times to make sure Buddy is comfortable with you - once he knows he is safe with you - he's great.
