Welcome to Our Adelaide Hills Haven
Nestled in a private valley between Strathalbyn and Mount Barker, our home is a true sanctuary. Set on a sprawling 75-acre property where three charming homesteads share rolling common land, our spot boasts its own gorgeous little 4-acre hobby farm.
Our stone cottage is designed to celebrate the landscape, featuring high raked wooden ceilings and walls of windows that frame breathtaking valley views from every angle. It is a place of absolute peace, yet wonderfully connected.
Location & Local Treasures
We are just a scenic 16 km drive from both Strathalbyn and Mount Barker, while historic Hahndorf is 22 km away. If you fancy a local outing, you are spoiled for choice:
• Food & Wine: Perfectly positioned near world-class wine regions like Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale, alongside weekend artisan markets packed with local Hills produce.
• Historic Pubs: Just 9 km down the road sits The Three Brothers Arms—one of South Australia's oldest pubs—famous for incredible food and lively music every Friday night.
• City & Coast: Adelaide is an easy 40-minute drive, with some of South Australia's finest beaches just 10 minutes beyond.
Our Furry & Feathered Family
Your stay comes with the best company imaginable. Our animals are deeply loved, well-behaved, and an absolute joy:
• Pepper & Tully: Tully is a little shy but endlessly playful and a little silly. Pepper the Boston Terrier is a bundle of active joy who lives for her ball and teaching Tully how to be good.
• Lulu & Poppy: Lulu is a very affectionate cat who loves spending hours curled up on her bed while you relax. Poppy is wonderfully haughty—until a scratch of her snowy-white tummy wins her over completely! Both cats enjoy the fresh air by day, happily snooze inside with the cat flap locked safe by night, and don't use litter trays.
• The Barnyard Crew: You will also look after six self-sufficient alpacas, one happy choo, two stately geese, two cheeky miniature goats, and a friendly comet fish keeping watch in the outdoor pond.
The Rhythm of Our Home
Because we are retired, our home is rarely empty. We are looking for sitters who love a quiet, grounding lifestyle and are content to stay home or return each day after local excursions to keep our crew company.
