About this house sitting position in Holland Park
I have a 5 bedroom ensuited, highset home (lock-up parking) in the quiet Southside Brisbane suburb of Holland Park.
The house is close to public transport going directly to the CBD and Fortitude Valley or direct bus route to Garden City Shopping Centre.
The house has fast broadband, and a number of decks for entertaining, relaxing or private space.
There is a dedicated space downstairs for sitters who work from home. There are 2 desks and chairs, one desk has a spare monitor, and a laptop stand downstairs. It is an open space for study or work without distractions, with plenty of natural light. You just might have 1,2, 3 or 4 furry helpers at different times of the day.
I have 3 cats and a dog who require in home residential care.
Ella is a youngish at heart 10 year old medium to large dog. She is shy with strangers at first, but a terrific guard dog. She will let you know when unfamiliar folks are around. She loves to chase her ball, and to go for a walk. She is a big marshmallow girl, and once she trusts you, she will want to be with you, and will love you forever.
Pepper is our 9 year old cat and is the queen of grumpy. Like most cats she is very independent but if you take the time to build a relationship with her, when she is ready she will hang out with you. She is mostly an inside kitty but is allowed outside. I make sure she is in before nightfall.
I have twin 9 month old kittens, Lyra and Vega. They will be 11 months at the time of your stay. They stay mostly inside but will go outside for a bit of a look around during the day. Lyra is my outgoing, social girl, and Vega is our quiet shy girl. Once she gets to know you she will be your couch buddy.
Pepper does not like the kittens much so expect the occasional spat. It never lasts for long, and is just usually Pepper letting the kittens know who the Queen of the house really is.
I have 2 aquariums, one with approx 30 aquarium fish and the other smaller aquarium has cherry shrimp. They are generally happy chaps and are really low maintenance. In saying that, we have had some recent sits where I have returned home to green tanks that have not been properly cared for. I will go through care and maintenance details with you before I go. It isn’t hard, it just requires a bit of daily preventative maintenance.
I am looking for someone to live in the house as I would. Duties include:
- Care of the animals
- Daily dog walking and poop scooping
- Watering of plants
- Lawn mowing/garden maintenance as required.
The block is only 400m square so it is easy to care for. The frontage however is narrow and is not suitable for anyone with a caravan as I don’t have the space.
I am a non smoker and maintain a clean and tidy house. I have a number of outdoor decks/areas for your convenience, and an ashtray if you require. I have great neighbours, but we all appreciate a little peace so a quieter style of house sitter would fit in well.
Please drop and note and say hi if you’re available. I’m looking forward to chatting with you. Read more...
