About this house sitting position in Hope Island

Our home is a three-bedroom apartment in a quiet Hope Island low-rise development, built around a man-made lake, with a relaxing view of the lake from our balcony.

It's a 7 minute walk from our apartment to the Hope Island Marketplace shops which include a Woolworths and an Aldi, and some nice local restaurants and take-aways. The other local shops - including a Coles and a wider choice of eateries - are about a 5 minute drive away.

When we are away, there will be a space in the underground car park for a house sitter's car. If you have a caravan or motorhome, it could be parked on the street outside the development (within line-of-sight from the apartment), but not within the development itself.

Sitters will have access to the whole apartment, with the exception of our bedroom and en-suite. You will have your own bedroom and the family bathroom. You will be free to use our sitting room, dining areas (inside and out) and kitchen.

We need someone to look after Honey, our medium-sized (around 14kg) labradoodle, who will be 4.5 years old at the time. She will need to be taken for a walk of around 1 hour once a day and for quick toilet trips outside at least three times more. We also would expect her to never be left alone for more than 4 hours at a maximum. So priority will be given to house sitters who can maximise their time in the home (e.g. retired or working from home) . We would also prefer a house sitter who can come and meet us and Honey in advance of the trip.

Aside from looking after Honey, there are a few houseplants that need to be watered when necessary, but there are no other maintenance tasks. The development does have some community rules, e.g. no drying of laundry on the balconies, and we would expect a house sitter to abide by those. A full briefing will be provided.
