About this house sitting position in Hoppers Crossing

2 bedroom neat, tidy house, spa bath, a ton of Dvd's to watch or books to read. Small front garden, back has fake grass. Heated under cover pool. Close to train station, and 3 shopping centres with the largest being Pacific plaza. Local attractions Werribee Zoo, Werribee mansion, Werribee beach. Half hour drive into Melbourne city, or by train. Train station 3 blocks from house. No shortage of restaurants and fast food places.
Your main job besides basic house and garden maintenance would be to care for two elderly cats. Bessie is a spritely 18 year old. I got her as company for Zorro after he lost his brother. Unfortunately she doesn't like him and he attacks her which is why I need someone in the house for the majority of the time as last time they were alone together, she got injured and had to go to the vet. Zorro is 16, arthritic, probably slightly senile and deaf. Hence when he meows he is very loud. Despite that they are both reasonably healthy for their ages. They love lots of pats and cuddles and they will let you know it. Bessie is very loveable and has become quite clingy with me, but she did accept the last house sitters I had after a few days. I don't think she would be a problem as long as you are patient with her at the start. Give her a few days to get to know you. Also she prefers females to males as that is what she is used to. Her previous owner was an elderly female who had to go into a nursing home. Zorro, on the other hand, is experienced with having house sitters and is more than happy to let anyone pat and feed him.
Zorro is afraid of dogs and is territorial when it comes to cats, so you wouldn't be able to bring your own pet with you if you have one.
Also, I don't have the internet on in the house. I just use my mobile phone as a modem when needed. (the broadband didn't work properly when they connected it and my landline was dodgy as well.)
Ideally I'd prefer a female house sitter, or a couple, as long as one is female because of Bessie's preferences. Read more...
