About this house sitting position in JULATTEN

We have a 5 acre plot in Julatten on the side of a forested hill. The house is on a pad at the top and we have a small edible flower farm at the bottom. Approximately 200m of flower beds with a fully integrated irrigation system.

We are on bore water and mains power but with added solar panels. The house is a small single story property with 2 1/2 bedrooms, bath and kitchen/living room. A large shed is next to the house and behind that we have an elevated open area with a small pool and view out over some nearby mountains. We have 4 chickens and are looking to get a cat from the local shelter soon.

I am looking for someone to house sit whilst we are on holiday in the UK for 4 weeks. (taking out 9 month old to see the grandparents) It will involve feeding the chickens, letting them out and putting them away again at night. Also looking after a cat if we have one by then.

I have someone that comes and picks/packs the flowers once a week and then collects them for delivery the next day. It is all run out of the shed and so they won't bother you. However you are welcome to get involved if you want.

Also just keep an eye on the flowers and make sure the irrigation is working etc etc....nothing major. If there are any problems I would have a friend come and look at it.

It is pretty remote, but there is one pub just around the corner and 9-mile road-house with fuel and some food items about 7 mins drive. Down the range, about 30 minutes away, you have Port Douglas and Mossman with all amenities. Read more...
