About this house sitting position in Kalamunda

We have a beautiful two storey house in Kalamunda about a 5 minute drive to the town. It’s very comfortable with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and a nice big kitchen, office and living spaces. We are surrounded by trees and bird song. The house feels like a treetop retreat on 3,000 sqm. We are just renovating the entire downstairs so there will be beautiful blackbutt floors, a brand new kitchen and bathroom and a gorgeous library for you to enjoy. We have also just put in an above ground pool.

We need someone to look after our two gorgeous rescue rabbits, Evie and Fin, and our 2 year old beautiful chocolate tri Border Collie, Lilka while we are away. Also need someone to water our indoor plants and veges. My son recently got tropical fish, as well, but they are quite simple to care for!

Evie is a lovely girl but can be a little skittish, she loves pats and attention and everything on her terms! Getting down to her level makes her happy. Fin is also a solo rabbit who is very friendly and sweet. They need hay and fresh water every day and some greens, pellets and one treat a day that we provide. Ideally, having someone here with rabbit knowledge and experience would be great, as they are quite sensitive creatures and hide illness well. But we can explain what to look out for and all should be fine.

Having a lot of experience with working dogs is essential as Lilka is a high energy dog who needs firm boundaries and a lot of love and attention. Going for two long walks a day is important with her as she needs good exercise. We also give her food in puzzles and prepare kongs for her with turkey and pumpkin. One of her walks is a training walk and we can show you exactly the training we do with her and all her commands.

We also have quite a few plants (I love growing things!) that need watering inside and the vege patches and some natives outside. We have reticulation for the rest.

Everyone who comes to our beautiful north facing house with lovely light has said it feels like a holiday! We have evaporative air conditioning throughout the house, two wood burning stove and a split system heating/cooling unit so you will be comfortable here.

There’s a dishwasher, Apple TV with Netflix, and lovely places to sit outside for a morning coffee or tea or to watch the sunset in the evening. We see quendas, lizards and possums in our garden and an abundance of birds.

It’s a beautiful place to be!

It is quite essential to have a car here to get around and be able to take animals to the vet if needed. Working from home would be ideal, as Lilka doesn't love being alone, but it is also possible to be out up to 6 hours per day. We do have neighbours who can take her for the day if out long.
