About this house sitting position in Kameruka
I live in a 2 bedroom factory on a farm. The farm land used to be part of a historic township called ‘Kameruka’ (you can google this) and consists of an old town hall, a cricket pitch, a river, a church, homestead and old English cottages which are privately rented out. The factory previously was ‘Kameruka Cheese Factory’ now more commonly known as Bega Cheese.
It’s a real explorers paradise! You feel like you have so much space around you but are relatively close to everything. Beautiful wildlife including a resident eagle to watch out. The river is a beautiful place to go for a dip on a hot day. No noise pollution from busy highways just birdsong and frogs. See the milkyway of a night. It’ll be almost like a little retreat.
The house has wifi, Apple TV, shower, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a living space. No air conditioning but standing fans, no heating but a fireplace.
I have a 2 dogs staying behind.
Astro: 7 year old, female ridgeback. Calm and gentle, quite happy to lounge around. She has a really nice temperament and loves being scratched on her bum. She loves walks and to do her own thing.
Then theres Doug, he is 5 years old, male german pointer x wolfhound. Doug is very loveable, will want to be right next to you. Always seeking pats and attention. Loves to chase a ball/rock. Loves to swim in the river
I have a veggie garden and fruit trees that will need some watering. I usually water every couple of days. I have wicking beds for most of the veggies so they just need filling up. I use sprinklers for the rest.
There should be tomatoes and cucumbers coming up during your stay which you are welcome to/and or any other produce that is ripe.
Feel free to wander the historic property staying on the tracks and not going through any cattle gates into farm lands or other residents local surroundings on the property. The property has all kinds of animals from sheep, cows, donkeys, horses and bulls to see. Welcome to walk by the river, swim if you wish, and if keen you can even pan for gold.
Located 10 minutes from local town Candelo, with a beautiful rustic cafe, general store, pub, post office and rural supplies store.
Roughly half an hour from the beach, supermarkets, walking trails, local oyster farms and cafes - Merimbula, Pambula, Bega are the closest.
Within driving distance of touristic towns Tathra, Bermagui and Eden.
Dirt bike tracks are close by, there is a golf course in Merimbula, plenty of places to fish, surfing and paddle boarding, and scenic drives among the Bega valley rolling hills.
I've put 'maybe' on sitter with pets welcome as Doug doesn't like male dogs that are yet to be nutered. He can be dominant with other male dogs and is protective. Read more...
