Re-listed and changed dates due to changed circumstances with sitter that was booked.

We are on 45 acres just south of Gympie where we have a fully self-contained guest cottage in addition to our house and looking for a sitter for 5 weeks from around the 20th May. Our dates can be flexible a week either side as we are doing a road trip.

Ideally we are after someone with experience living on a rural property capable around horses, 3 pasture pets and just 1 aged horse that needs feeding. We also have chickens, guinea fowl, 2 cats and an older, special needs large dog. Bear has Addisons disease which has been well managed for 10 years with medication twice a day and minimising stressful situations, he is otherwise healthy and still mobile and active. There is also a large collection of pot plants and orchids that will require watering.

As our set up allows for private accommodation we would like the sitter to come a day or two prior to us leaving to learn the ropes and get familiar with the animals, particularly getting to know Bear to make the transition of us leaving a smooth one. The cottage is very comfortable and fully equipped but we also have plenty of space if you are travelling in a caravan or motorhome and prefer to just hook up to power, water and use the amenities. We are hoping to find someone that is either retired or working from home that would enable them to be at the property a lot of the time. This would suit a single or couple, not a family and no pets please as Bear would not cope and we have an abundance of wildlife at our property with 98 bird species (to date) having been photographed here. We are perfectly situated 15klms south of Gympie, an hour to Rainbow Beach, 45 minutes to Noosa, 20 minutes to the beautiful Mary Valley. Tasks would include:

Feeding 1 horse twice a day, checking her water trough
Feeding chooks and letting them out to free-range through the day, locking them up at night, collect eggs.
Feeding guinea fowl once a day
Feeding cats twice a day
Medicating and feeding Bear (dog) twice a day
Collect the mail and watering orchids & pot plants as needed.
