My home is a modest, older Queensland house with a relaxed, no-fuss feel. It's simple and unpretentious rather than modern, with an older-style bathroom and basic amenities. There are no mod cons such as air conditioning or a dishwasher, so it's best suited to someone who is happy with a simpler style of living.
The real appeal is the location. The town has some lovely cafés, an art gallery and the beautiful Border Ranges nearby to explore. It's a great spot for anyone who enjoys nature, walking, discovering local places and taking life at a slower pace.
The garden is a little untamed in places and is gradually being tidied up as time allows. There's absolutely no expectation for house-sitters to do any gardening, so please feel free to enjoy it just as it is. However, if you enjoy pottering around outdoors and getting your hands dirty, you're very welcome to!
Looking After My Cat
I have one independent cat who is quite self-sufficient and doesn't require much attention. The main responsibility is feeding twice a day and making sure there is fresh water.
My cat isn't particularly affectionate and prefers to do their own thing, so there's no expectation of pats, cuddles or lots of interaction. If you're happy sharing your space with a cat who likes to keep to themselves, this should be an easy and straightforward arrangement.
