About this house sitting position in Landsborough

3 MONTH HOUSESIT
Looking for a fit retired couple or a couple who work from home.

We’re really needing experienced people who are completely comfortable with the up keep of acreage, have a knowledge of pumps for tank water & pool, are willing to maintain our gardens & paddocks, & are completely comfortable with horses (rugging, grooming, feeding) & our other animals.

Our main concern is our dog. He’s a beautiful, big boy with a heart condition, who requires meds morning & night. We are loathe to leave him, as his condition could worsen, but we can’t put our lives on hold & this trip has been planned for a long time. He really is a big sook & will miss us dreadfully. He is spoilt to death & sleeps in our room. Please don’t apply if you’re not happy with that.

Are you a dog lover who will give him the love & support he needs? Due to his health, we would like to know that you would be on hand during most of the day (hence working from home) and would feel confident should his health go awry whilst we are away. He really is an adorable dog & just needs company & a lot of love. He sleeps most of the day & does not require walking. He’s an absolute boof head & would sit on your lap if he could. He’s part Irish Wolfhound so you don’t want to encourage that!😆

Experience with horses is a must. We have a 36yr old Standard Bred & a 6yr old Stock Horse. The 6yr old is a friend’s. She’s around most evenings to feed him, but we share the care of them both. She will be on hand to help you. Harley, my old boy, is a wonder! How long he’ll keep going is anyone’s guess!

We also have 2 Fluffies (cats). They’re pretty low key & very easy. They’re not much into cuddles but do love a good stroke & brush.

Our flock of 11 geese & (I don’t know how many) chickens require feeding & putting to bed at night. I hope you like honking. The geese can be noisy. It’ll be breeding season so they’ll be quite a bit of argy bargy. Maybe, even some goslings.

We live in a beautiful 100yr old Queenslander with verandas overlooking our pool, garden and 4 acres of paddock with a large, natural dam. We have abundant wildlife including a large mob of kangaroos that regularly visit & an abundance of birds. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will find it here. It really is very peaceful, yet we are only 2kms away from Landsborough township.

We are based in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland with the Glasshouse Mountains dominating the surrounding landscape. They are wonderful to climb, for the intrepid. We are surrounded by beautiful places to walk. We are 20 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes from Australia Zoo & 1 hour from Brisbane. The beautiful Hinterland town of Maleny is just up the hill, A great place for breakfasts. Landsborough is a small community, with all amenities, trains and buses. And a pub.

We would like to meet you as there is much to show you with regards to feeding & looking after the animals. And we would also like to see how you interact with all the animals. We also require police checks & references.
