About this house sitting position in Leith

We are looking for responsible and animal-loving house sitters to care for our home and pets while our family travels from 21 September to 1 October.

Our home is located in Leith on Tasmania's beautiful North West Coast, perched on the hillside with sweeping views across Bass Strait and the surrounding coastline. It is the perfect base for exploring everything the region has to offer, including Devonport, Ulverstone, Penguin, Sheffield, Cradle Mountain, Boat Harbour and Stanley.

The Home

Our architect-designed family home is warm, comfortable and full of character, featuring:

Stunning coastal and ocean views
Large entertaining deck and spacious garden
Open-plan living with soaring timber ceilings and exposed brickwork
Wood heater for cosy evenings
Fully equipped kitchen and modern amenities
Fast internet
Plenty of off-street parking, including space for a caravan or motorhome

The home offers a peaceful setting while remaining close to shops, cafes, beaches and many of Tasmania's best attractions.

The Animals

Our Kelpie (7 years old)

Our friendly Kelpie, Billy, is well-behaved, easy-going and loves human company. He enjoys a walk most days and is equally happy relaxing around the house afterwards.

Our Cat (2 years old)

Our cat, Harvey, is an indoor/outdoor cat who is affectionate, independent and very easy to care for.

Chickens

We are also planning to have several backyard chickens by the time of the sit. Their care is straightforward and would simply involve feeding, checking water and collecting fresh eggs each day.

What We Need

The main responsibilities are:

Feeding and caring for the animals
Walking the dog most days
Feeding the chickens and collecting eggs
Keeping an eye on the house while we're away

We will be leaving early on the morning of 21 September, so we'd like to meet the successful sitter(s) beforehand, ideally a day or two prior, to introduce the animals, show you around the home and provide a handover.

This sit would suit a couple, retiree, remote worker or traveller looking to enjoy a relaxed stay on Tasmania's beautiful North West Coast while caring for a few friendly animals.
