About this house sitting position in Lilli Pilli

Hello. We are looking for someone to care for our dog and stay in our home at Lilli Pilli (just south of Batemans Bay on the NSW far south coast) while we go camping in WA. The dates required are from 30th July to 4th September.

Our dog Barney is an active 12 year old kelpie x who is a much loved member of our family and is an inside/outside dog.

The area we live in is rural/coastal with an abundance of pristine beaches and beautiful nearby forests. A vehicle is useful for exploring the nearby towns and localities and tourist spots, but there is a bus stop in walking distance from our house that connects between Batemans Bay and Moruya and also daily coaches that travel the coast from Eden to Sydney or Batemans Bay to Canberra.

What is the house like?
It’s an early 1990’s 3 bed, 2 bath farmhouse/coastal style split level home with wood panelled walls, vaulted wooden ceiling in main living area. (Lots of wood!) There’s a carport, north facing back verandah. Front door access via ramp. Two steps down to living area which has reverse cycle air conditioner, large fan and freestanding wood heater.

Our locality is hilly ‘suburban’, within 500 metres from Lilli Pilli beach. House block is approx 670sqmetres. Most services - shopping centre, govt offices, schools, light industrial, library, cinema, gyms and sport facilities are within 15 minutes by car. The daily local bus service is accessible but infrequent. Our neighbourhood is friendly and pretty quiet. There’s a great coffee shop within walking distance.

Barney is a 12 year old male medium sized kelpie x border collie who loves people and loves beach walking. Playful, energetic and friendly with other dogs. He is sweet natured, good with children, and has that kelpie fascination with chasing balls.

We would prefer someone who is confident and/or has experience with working dogs.
We would like someone who would keep an eye on and water the plants as needed.
We prefer a non smoker.

Two bedrooms will be available for use - the main bedroom with comfortable queen size bed and ensuite. Alternatively the second room we use for guests is also our study/library and has an IKEA day bed that opens out to a king size bed with comfortable mattresses. Read more...
