Hi! We’re Asey and Pierce, we’ll be travelling to New Zealand to visit Pierce’s family in early December.

We have a 2 bedroom + 1 study home in Lismore Heights. Our 3.5 year old border collie mix, Ranger is a very sweet boy. He doesn’t need all too much, and may be the most low energy Collie alive. He barks once or twice if someone comes to the door but otherwise he is very quiet and well behaved. He has never destroyed anything, ran away or stolen food. His biggest quirk is probably how cuddly he is, he’s a charmer and will win you over very quickly.

Typically he gets a 20-40 minute walk in the morning and the same in the evening, sometimes he will get a bigger adventure but an hour of walks a day and he’s a happy boy, he definitely prefers if he gets two walks but it’s not an expectation for every single day as long as he gets plenty of cuddles he is a happy boy. My partner works from home and he is quite happy flopping around on his trampoline bed and watching the lizards in the garden during the day. He eats morning and night and he does sleep in the bed with us but he has 2 beds in the house or can sleep on the couch if you’re not okay with that. He aims to please and is respectful of boundaries, he may need time to adjust but if you tell him ‘on your bed’ he will listen.

We’ve never left him with a stranger and in the 2 years that we’ve had him this will be the first time that we are both leaving him for more than a few days. He is a big sweet softie who loves cuddles and being around people. He can be left alone for 4-6 hrs with a Kong or puzzle, but would appreciate working up to that length of time with someone new, ie: an hour at first, then 2 and so on.

Our home fills with lovely light in the summer evenings, we have an established vege garden with herbs and flowers that you are welcome to enjoy, we have a tv and wifi, we enjoy cooking so our kitchen is filled with all sorts of tools, however sadly, no dishwasher. We have aircon, an outdoor bath down stairs, a home gym and an office space that can be used to work from home.

Lismore is a wonderful place to explore, there are a number of waterfalls and swimming holes all within 20-30 minutes of our house. The beaches of Ballina and Byron are within 30-40 minutes drive. There is a cinema in town, a number of lovely cafes and a new wine bar has recently opened. If you’ve not spent time here before we will be sure to clue you in on all the best spots. The rail trail starts in town if you enjoy bike riding and summer is when the northern rivers comes alive, beautiful produce at the Saturday morning farmers market, events, gigs and the Eltham pub is about 15 minutes drive.
