About this house sitting position in Lower Chittering

Hello,

My husband and I have spent the last 10 years building both our new home and a beautiful guest house in Lower Chittering. It has been a true labour of love, and we have poured absolutely everything we have into making this place special - our forever family home. It has a real sanctuary feel to it: a slow-living, peaceful home where one can relax and reconnect with themselves, nature, the land, and the wildlife. Winter is an absolutely beautiful and magical time here.

The property sits on 6 acres and has a river running along the entire boundary.

We have 3 dogs — a Border Collie, a Jack Russell/Dingo cross, and a Pug — all 14 years old.

They are pure love, very relaxed and affectionate, and definitely slowing down now as they age. They require two feeds a day and some love & cuddles.

We also have an enclosed paddock with 1 orphaned cow and 4 sheep. All were abandoned at birth and given to us by local farmers, and I’ve bottle-fed them all since birth. They now live and play happily together in the paddock. In winter they basically feed themselves, but we also give them pellets. Their water trough will be filled before we leave, but it’s important to keep an eye on it.

Lastly, we are wildlife carers and occasionally have birds or ducks come to us from vets or the local community. We work to rehabilitate and release them. We may still have a few magpies around the property, but you will not be required to care for any wildlife.

Our home is completely off-grid. You may occasionally need to refill the generator - we will show you how, and of course we cover the cost. We would need to meet beforehand to show you the solar system, the house, and of course the animals. Suits someone who is familiar with solar and generators.

We are looking for someone who is Incredibly trustworthy, tidy, and responsible - someone who will treat our home as their own home and who truly loves animals.

We need someone (or ideally a couple) we can rely on during this time away to not only care for the animals - but also keep an eye on the property overall.

Prior house-sitting reviews and police clearance is needed.

Other than that, the house is a complete oasis - beautifully designed, peaceful, and with a pool overlooking incredible valley views. Hopefully it’s an opportunity for a quiet, relaxing farm stay/country retreat. Again, winter on our farm is absolutely magic.
