Comfortable Macleay Island home on large block with picturesque water views across to Nth Stradbroke Island.

Macleay, Russell, Lamb and Karragarra Islands make up the Southern Moreton Bay Island group (SMBI) and can be reached by vehicle barge or passenger ferry, departing from Redland Bay, from early morning to late evening.

We have a four year old golden retriever named Buddy. He is the most beautiful, loving, happy and friendly boy you will ever meet. He loves a walk each day and enjoys play dates with nearby neighbours dogs in our secure large front yard.

Our vegie and fruit gardens only need watering if it's dry, and collection of any ripe goodies.

We have an old automatic Toyota for you to use if needed.

Should you wish to bring your own vehicle to the island, the vehicle barge to Macleay Island from Redland Bay is currently $180 return for standard car and early bookings are essential via Sealink Ferries.

With a population of about 3500 people, Macleay Island has all the amenities needed, with a very pleasant 20 minute passenger ferry trip to Redland Bay Marina, using GoCard (50c per journey), then a quick bus trip to Victoria Point, offering many more options such as restaurants, major supermarkets, specialty stores and more.

Macleay Island has a lovely community active in arts, garden groups and markets, and live music at several nearby venues.

We are on the northern end of Macleay which is about six kilometres long and is an easy cycle to shops, ferry and clubs.

The Golf Club, Bowls Club and Hotel provide courtesy buses to and from, and there is also a taxi service available.

We have a very pleasant public beach area 10 minutes walk from our house, which is very safe for children, and provides a pleasant walk on the sand flats at low tide, and a very enjoyable swim during higher tides.
