About this house sitting position in Natimuk

My partner and I live in the old Natimuk Post Office (circa 1890) and are planning an overseas trip this year. We have two dogs, 2 cats and 4 chooks. Of course I am biased but I think they are the most beautiful pets on the planet and am looking for someone to take care of them while we are away. I’m not sure if it’s a thing on Mindahome but I would be happy to pay extra $$ for the right person who is willing to put in the work needed to truly love and care for my furry and feathered family.

The dogs, Prince (aged 3) and Marli (aged 2) need the most attention with special meals and regular exercise. The cats (Traviesa, 5 and Maslow, 4) mostly do their own thing but LOVE to smooch, beg for food in the mornings and snuggle on the bed when they are allowed. Warning: Traviesa likes to HELP TYPE when someone is on the computer. The chookies are little gold and silver speckled old ladies that were being rehomed and now reside with us. We get a few lovely little eggs each week and they love devouring our scraps.

Natimuk is an hour from Gariwerd (Grampians) which is simply beautiful at this time of year for walking and enjoying the wild flowers and wildlife. Similarly, Mount Arapiles is 10 minutes away and also offers beautiful walks. Sadly the dogs are not allowed in either of the parks, although there are great walking tracks around town. Horsham is 20km away and has supermarkets, petrol, hardware etc. We have a general store here in Nati and a great pub.

We also have friends in Natimuk so if any support is needed during the sit, help will be just around the corner (literally). Read more...

“I was fortunate to secure this sit in a little Victorian town called Natimuk. Moreover, I was even more fortunate to stay in the old Post Office, which opened in 1874, and is now a private residence. I was blessed with the care and company of 2 adult cats, and 2 kittens, who were all a delight to care for. A lovely trip into Victorian history, and one of the benefits of house sitting.”
