Hello!

We are looking for a responsible and caring house and pet sitter or couple to look after our lovable golden retriever, Archie, and our beautifully renovated home while we're away for 2 months in July to September 2026.

Our home is in South Kingsville, about 8km from Melbourne’s CBD, within walking distance of cafes and parks, with easy access to public transport and plenty of on-street parking.

The house is a comfortable three-bedroom home with an open-plan living and dining area, a large well-equipped kitchen, two queen bedrooms (plus a nursery room), and a separate study/rumpus room. It’s well set up for longer stays, with two workspaces, high-speed Wi-Fi, streaming services, reverse-cycle heating and cooling, a bath, washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher, ideal for remote workers or anyone wanting a comfortable base.

The highlight is Archie, our almost 4-year-old golden retriever. He’s affectionate, friendly, and loves walks, pats, treats, and being around people. His routine is simple: breakfast, dinner, and a daily walk, and he enjoys visits to the nearby dog park.

Archie can be enthusiastic when meeting new people, but he settles quickly and is relaxed around the house. He gets along well with other dogs, walks nicely with a harness and is a wonderful companion. As he is a large breed, we'd prefer someone who has experience caring for bigger dogs.

Archie is comfortable being left at home for several hours during the day, but he does enjoy company, so this sit would be particularly well suited to someone who works from home, is retired, or spends a reasonable amount of time at home. In saying that he's totally happy to be left at home alone, if he gets an extra walk and attention.
