About this house sitting position in Nords Wharf
Our home has recently been completely renovated. It is about as modern as you can get. We are surrounded by a lake and have water views from just about every window.
There is a large deck overlooking the lake that we have almost all our meals on and love a sunset drink in the evenings. We wake in the morning, open the blinds and look out onto the lake, and it just gets better from there.
Upstairs is open plan lounge/dining/kitchen with wraparound deck and water views from every position. The lounge and large TV with several streaming services overlooks the lake (I think you’re starting to get the picture).
PLEASE NOTE: Nords Wharf is an isolated village on Lake Macquarie. There are NO local amenities – the nearest supermarket is a 6 minute drive away. So are about 10 INCREDIBLE beaches. There is NO public transport. You are surrounded by nature – lake, bush, National Park. If you love nature, you’ll love this house. If you love to party, this is not for you. There is only 1 road in and 1 road out of Nords Wharf. It is quiet, peaceful and surrounded by nature. The right people will love it.
Brodie is a 4yo staffy, who loves just to be by your side for a scratch, and morning walks. He usually gets taken for an hour’s walk after he has had breakfast and then he’s good for the day, although if you want to take him more he’d love that.
There are 2 Burmese cats who are indoors only. They share a serving of food morning and night and, like all cats, will let you know when they want a scratch.
There are 10 chickens who will keep you in eggs for your stay and longer. They get let out in the morning, given some feed, have their water topped up, given some seed and any food scraps you’ve got during the day, get put back into their pen around sunset and given more feed. The pen will need eggs collected each day (we get about 9 dozen a month and give lots away), and cleaned using a garden trowel into a waste collection sealed container. If you’ve looked after chickens before, you know what they need. If not and prepared to give it a go, it’s easy. If not prepared to scoop poop into a bucket, this isn’t for you.
Garden or plant care
Minimal – It’s a large garden with citrus trees that, depending on the time of year, will give you lots of fruit. When full, we love going out, collecting some and making juice, or using it in drinks. They just need watering if it hasn’t rained for a few days. We don’t expect mowing lawns, etc. unless that’s your thing. Read more...
