About this house sitting position in Oakey

We have a lovely 3 bedroom railway cottage with a huge backyard in the town of Oakey. The living room is air-conditioned and so are two of the three bedrooms. Thankfully, we have solar so we encourage you to put the air cons on and keep you and our pups comfortable.

We have two dogs; Missy (4 year old Border Collie) and Theo (3 year old Chihuahua). They are our babies. Missy loves a good game or hike but is equally happy to chill on the sofa with Netflix (we have most streaming channels for you to enjoy). Unfortunately, she was attacked as a young pup and can be frightened of other dogs. If you are wanting to bring your own pup then we would need to do a meet a greet. She prefers older dogs who are happy to leave her alone. Theo is not your stereotypical Chihuahua, he's great with people and dogs. However, he also believes that he is a gift to humankind and thinks that someone sitting down wants him in their lap. They both enjoy children so families and visitors are welcome.

We have six chooks, so there will be no shortage of fresh eggs for your breakfast (they are VERY easy to care for). The house has two decks which are lovely to sit on in the morning with a cuppa and listen to the birds. There is undercover parking for vehicles.

The main shops in Oakey are a 2 minute drive from the house or 10 minute walk. You'll find a large IGA, local pool, library, chemist, doctors, hairdresser, bakery, butcher and a few takeaway options. The city of Toowoomba is a 20-30 minute drive with every amenity you could ask for. The area is also very close to the beautiful Bunya mountains and great hiking spots.

Given it is the Christmas period we are happy to supply decorations etc and for you to have family/friends over (within reason).

There is also the potential to move to start date to earlier in December if you'd prefer a longer stay. Read more...
