About this house sitting position in OLINDA

We, Christina and Clive, are looking for a caring and reliable house and pet sitter to look after our lovely home and our handsome 2.5-year-old Belgian Shepherd, Vader, while we are away.

About Vader:
Vader is a affectionate 2.5-year-old Belgian Shepherd who loves his daily walks and plenty of cuddles. He was rehomed with us about a year ago and is still working through some separation anxiety, so he cannot be left home alone yet. He is comfortable waiting in the car for short periods on cool days while out on errands, but we do require a sitter who works from home or is happy to spend most of their time with him. For occasional short outings (mainly evenings or weekends), our friendly immediate neighbours are often happy to step in and dog-sit.

The Property & Responsibilities:
Our home is situated on a spacious block in the Hills, surrounded by lush nature and wildlife—you’ll regularly spot birds, wombats, and the occasional echidna! On rainy days, you’ll be treated to the sounds of lyrebirds and frogs, and we back onto a National Park with fantastic walking tracks right at the doorstep. We’re in Melbourne’s outer suburbs: shops and restaurants are a 5-minute drive away, but the nearest bus stop is a 30-minute walk, so a car is essential. The house is mid-upgrade, with a few areas still awaiting finishing touches, but everything is comfortable and fully functional, and no works will take place during your stay.

Your main responsibilities will be keeping Vader company and caring for our plants. Most of the garden is on an automatic sprinkler system, but you’ll just need to check on them and hand-water a few indoor plants and pots under the verandah, and some young trees. Read more...
