About this house sitting position in Orange

We have a lovely, comfy home in Orange, close to the CBD and located in a quiet, leafy cul-de-sac.
We are looking for someone to keep our much-loved dog Archie company.
Archie is a 14.5 year old, red cattle dog and is completely blind and mostly deaf but knows his way around our house and yard perfectly. Archie loves human company, sunbaking on the back verandah and sleeping the day away.
We'd prefer someone who works from home or is looking to take a relaxing break so you're mostly around home to spend time with Archie. He does not need 24/7 company, nor do we want him left at home for hours on end, day after day, and never overnight. Someone who loves to spend their day reading a book with a cup of tea will be the right fit for Archie!
We are not looking for a house sitter, just someone to keep the place tidy and water the plants. Most important to us is that Archie is happy and comfortable at home while we are away.
Must be non-smoker.

“Macklin, Sam and Archie are lovely. They were welcoming and organised. We felt at home right away. Macklin had prepared a hand-book and a supply of his special food for Archie, which helped make looking after him a breeze. Archie is a treasure. Although blind, he has a full-on red cattle-dog personality: friendly, inquisitive, fun-loving and determined. He loved his walks and made our job of being his 'seeing-eye-people' a delight. The house was spacious and comfortable, peacefully quiet, but only a few minutes walking distance to North Orange's compact but well-supplied shopping centre. “Our five week assignment, looking after Archie the wonder dog, staying in a comfortable home and having excellent communication with Macklin, was very enjoyable and we highly recommend any future opportunities to other sitters. Archie is such a delight. He is intelligent, obedient, loving, loyal and a great companion. It's hard to realize sometimes that he is blind. He loves walking and knows when to stop before crossing streets. The house is very comfortable with centralized heating for the cold days. Only a few minutes drive to the CBD and within range for Woolworths grocery deliveries. We enjoyed some really good restaurants during our time there. Macklin was an excellent communicator both before the assignment and during her holiday. She provided extensive information on how to care for Archie and her home. An all round pleasant time for us to experience a new environment away from our coastal home.”
