About this house sitting position in Pomona
Peaceful, private and comfortable home on 2 acres in the Noosa hinterland 5 minutes from Pomona. Reaching out to all enthusiastic and experienced gardeners to not only mind our home but most importantly care and maintain our large garden, small lawn and potted plants. No fur babies, just a feed for the local birds when they are around
The area surrounding the house is made up of garden rooms, a small lawn area, vegie/herb garden, a garage/workshop and carports. Surrounding the house and on our decks, we have several indoor plants, potted succulents and orchids. The rear acre of the property is natural bush - no maintenance required.
Please note there is no land line or NBN. We use mobile phones and have a mobile WIFI modem for internet, computer access etc. There is a Telstra ONLY WIFI booster for signal. We are on tank water, (66,000 Ltrs) septic and solar hot water.
We also receive regular visits from wallabies, numerous bird species, goannas, possums, brush turkeys and the occasional snake (we stay out of their way and they stay out of ours!).
Our ideal sitter would be a quiet, mature couple (no pets) who are passionate and practised gardeners, have a police check, be non-smokers/vapers and happy to chat in person or over the phone prior to the sit. A car would be required as well as a TELSTRA mobile phone. Please No Parties or loud music/noise (It's a very peaceful and tranquil neighbourhood).
Garden/House Tasks:
Mow, whipper snip grass and water internal lawn when required; intermittent watering, trimming, gathering dead leaves and branches from the garden and paths; watering and feeding potted plants at specified frequency. There is a reliable mower and large selection of garden tools.
Generally, keep the house and deck areas clean, neat and tidy – Kitchen and bathroom clean, vacuum/wash house floors, sweep decks. Put bins out/in and collect mail from post office.
Bird Care:
Just a feed for the King Parrots (they will let you know when they are around) and regular replenishment of the birdbaths.
Additional Info about the Area:
Pomona has an IGA, bakery, several cafes, doctor, pharmacy, bottle shop, newsagent, hardware store, pizza place, hair dressers etc. Pomona Distilling is defiantly worth a visit. Cooroy is just a further 10kms. For Woolies, Coles or large shopping centre both Tewantin, Noosaville and Gympie are only 20 minutes’ drive. The famous Noosa Heads and National Park are 30 minutes. There is plenty to see and do in the area with numerous bush walks, shopping on Hastings St or at the Eumundi Markets, sporting facilities, beaches, art galleries and scenic drives. Read more...
