About this house sitting position in Portland
We have a 10 acre property, 2 minutes drive from Portland, 35 minutes from Bathurst and 25 minutes from Lithgow. Sydney is less then 3 hours drive to the CBD.
Portland is situated on the western edge of the Blue Mountains. Katoomba is 50 minutes drive away.
We currently have 6 alpacas, that are hand fed each day, and a dog called Carla. Carla is a kelpie, and has become accustomed to sleeping in the house at night. She has an outside kennel for day time naps! We do try to take Carla away with us, but sometimes this is not possible.
We are looking for house sitters who will feed the alpacas hay and chaff each afternoon, and feed and walk Carla if she is here.
The weather can be quite cool here, however we have a wood combustion heater (and a good supply of wood) that keeps the house warm.
There are many scenic day trips in the area. Bushwalking, wineries in Mudgee and Orange, Capertee Valley, to name a few.
We hope our house sitters will have an enjoyable time at our place while we are on our holiday.
