About this house sitting position in Red Hill

We have a two bedroom worker’s cottage with a yard and garden located within 3kms of the Brisbane CBD.The Paddington Central Shopping centre and regular bus transport is just over 500ms away.
The house is typical of its type , lowset at the front and highset at the back with a pleasant view from the back deck. The neighbourhood is hilly with many parks, cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. There are plenty of other dog walking folk and dog friendly coffee spots. There are also walking tracks around the area for dog walks and recreation.

We require a pet sitter able to give our 6 yr old Mini schnauzer dog walks 2-3 times a day, play with him, feed him twice daily and generally keep him company. He is a schnauzer and can be stubborn ; doesn’t like the rain & needs the cooler walks of early morning & evening.

He is fine on his own for a few hours but is not used to spending a whole working day by himself. Once he knows you, he is a bit of a character loving attention and of course, lots of pats. Reg has some back issues so we carry him up the stairs, maybe two or three times in a day to ensure he stays as fit and mobile as he can for as long as he can. Reg is full of energy and loves to play tug of way and on occasions he goes into the garden to chase bush turkeys and garden skinks. Reg weighs 7 kgs.

We also have 4 small fishponds with guppies.
The ponds do not require much maintenance other than daily fish flakes and topping up if there has been too much evaporation.

Depending on the weather the garden should require little maintenance but pots would need to be watered.

We are a non smoking household. Our sitter would need to be able to manage the hills , a stubborn schnauzer and his walking schedule and a 100 year old house. We are flexible on our time away. We want to find the right sitter and then negotiate dates so that it is win win for all. Read more...
