Cozy Apartment Home with Sweet Senior Rescue Dog

Welcome to my home! I live in a comfortable two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment with my beloved rescue dog, Kona. The apartment is located in a small, quiet block of just 10 apartments and features a private courtyard, perfect for relaxing outdoors.

Kona is a 10-year-old terrier/cattle dog cross who has free access to the entire apartment and courtyard via her dog door. The courtyard can also be accessed through a standard door from the living area.

About Kona

Kona is the reason I'm looking for a house sitter. As a rescue dog, she has a few anxieties but is a loving and loyal companion. She generally enjoys human company, particularly women, and forms strong bonds with those caring for her. However, she is not comfortable around most other dogs, which is why boarding kennels are not a suitable option.

Like many dogs, Kona can become anxious during storms, fireworks, or other loud noises and appreciates having a calm, reassuring presence around during these times.

Care Requirements

Kona's needs are relatively simple:

Two daily walks of approximately 20 minutes each.
Fresh food and water.
Some companionship and occasional playtime indoors or in the courtyard.
Someone home overnight, as she enjoys sleeping with company nearby.

She is perfectly happy being left alone during the day while you explore the local area or attend work commitments, but she does need a sitter who will be home each evening.

Ideal House Sitter

The ideal sitter will be a dog lover who enjoys a quieter lifestyle and is comfortable caring for a rescue dog with a few quirks. Experience with anxious dogs would be a bonus, and because Kona tends to be more comfortable around women, female sitters may be the best match.
