Our home

We have a comfortable two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in Ripponlea, Melbourne, on the top floor of a quiet, three-storey building in a very safe area.

The apartment has air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. One bedroom has a queen bed, while the other is set up as a home office with a workspace available for use. Please note that the photos uploaded are not current, happy to provide up to date photos upon request.

We're located alongside Nepean Highway, so there can be some traffic noise during the day, although we find it quite manageable. On-street parking is available.

Location and transport

We're in a fantastic location, surrounded by cafés, restaurants, shops, cinemas, and parks, with excellent public transport connections.

- Public transport: 2-minute walk to tram 67, 8-minute walk to Ripponlea and Elsternwick train stations (Sandringham line), and 15-minute walk to trams 3, 16 and 78. Numerous bus routes are also nearby.
- Shopping: 10-minute walk to Elsternwick and Ripponlea shopping strips, 15-minute walk (or 5 minute drive) to Balaclava's Carlisle Street and Coles Elsternwick (open until midnight). Several convenience stores, including a 7-Eleven, are even closer.
- Leisure: 20-minute walk (or 5-minute drive) to Elwood Beach and central St Kilda, with Elwood's cafés and restaurants also very close by.

Our cats and what we're looking for

We're looking for a reliable, considerate house sitter to stay in our home and care for our two indoor cats. They're an important part of our family, so we'd love someone who genuinely enjoys cats and will give them plenty of attention and affection.

Responsibilities include:

- Feeding the cats, providing fresh water, and scooping their litter trays daily.
- Spending time with them and keeping them company.
- Sending one daily update, including at least one photo.
- Keeping our home clean and tidy.
- Staying overnight throughout the sitting period rather than just dropping in.

Our cats are strictly indoors. They're curious and have previously attempted to escape unexpectedly through doors and windows, so particular care is essential. Windows may only be opened to specified safe positions to prevent escapes or falls. These requirements are strictly non-negotiable, so please only apply if you're comfortable following them.

Additional house rules:

- No visitors or overnight guests without prior agreement.
- No other pets.
- Smoking is permitted outside at the front of the property only (not inside or on the balcony).
