We have two dogs, both 11 years young—a German Shepherd and a Pug cross—who are affectionate, easygoing companions.

They enjoy two short walks during the day and another after dinner. They're easy to walk on lead and have a well-established daily routine. For most of the day they're happy to snooze, but they'll never say no to a cuddle. They're used to their own company during the day but are always happy to see you when you return home.

Our German Shepherd is a gentle, placid girl who loves people and enjoys plenty of affection. Given her size and strength, we would prefer someone who has experience with larger dogs and feels comfortable around them. She can be a little more people-focused and loves being included in daily life.

On weekends, they enjoy a longer walk to the local cafés, where they're well known for stopping by for a treat. They definitely know which café and pet store have their favourite goodies—and exactly where they're kept!

They also love visiting the local dog park to socialise with their canine friends. They can be a little protective if another dog is getting more attention, so they're happiest with someone who is confident around dogs and can give them a little reassurance when needed.

They sleep indoors in their own beds and are fed once each evening, with a few treats during the day. As they're accustomed to our normal work routine, they're happy spending several hours at home on their own during the day. They're also fine if you're out for dinner one evening, but we ask that they're not left alone overnight.
