Cosy Rushcutters Bay Apartment + Two Affectionate Rescue Cats 🐾

Hi there!

We’re looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter to stay in our beautiful apartment in Rushcutters Bay while we travel to Europe to visit family from 6 July – 13 August. Ideally we’d love someone available for the full stay, but we’re open to shorter stays if needed.

Our home is a warm, peaceful older-style apartment full of character, with ornate high ceilings, whitewashed wooden floorboards, lots of plants, art, and beautiful natural light. The bedroom overlooks stunning 100-year-old trees and feels a little like a treehouse — especially in the mornings with a coffee overlooking the park.

We’re located just above Rushcutters Bay Park, perfect for walks, picnics or relaxing outdoors, while still being incredibly central. Kings Cross Station is around a 10-minute walk away, there’s a bus at the top of the street, supermarkets and cafés are within 5 minutes, and Bondi Beach is only around 15 minutes away. Despite being close to everything, the apartment itself feels very private, quiet and calm.

You’ll have access to:

- Proper coffee machine
- Visitor parking nearby (often available)

The stars of the show are our two rescue girls, Rosie and Bibi, who have been with us for 8 years. They are incredibly affectionate, gentle cats who love company and will happily curl up beside you on the couch or in bed once they know you’re safe and kind. We both work from home, so they’re very used to having humans around for pats and cuddles throughout the day.

Rosie is very food motivated and likes to keep tabs on everyone’s meals (including Bibi’s!), while Bibi is a little more shy initially but becomes incredibly loving once she warms up. Bibi had her teeth removed due to gingivitis, so wet food is especially important for her.

Their care is quite straightforward:
- Wet food morning + night with some kibble
- Extra dry food left during the day for grazing
- Scoop litter as needed
- Full litter refresh every 2 weeks
- Top up water fountain weekly
- Change fountain filter monthly

The girls can technically be left alone for up to 24 hours with enough dry food, but ideally we’d love someone who is home most evenings and able to feed them wet food daily. Remote workers or people who enjoy quiet nights in with cuddly cats would probably love this sit.

We’re looking for someone experienced, genuine, tidy and caring — someone who will treat our pets and home with kindness and care as if they were their own. Singles or couples are both welcome.

A quick check-in every few days while we’re away would also be really appreciated.

House rules are simple:
- No smoking inside (there’s a lovely outdoor garden area downstairs if needed)
- No parties
- Extra guests okay if discussed beforehand
- A few hardy plants may need one small water during the stay
