About this house sitting position in Secret Harbour

We’re looking for a reliable, trustworthy and caring house sitter to look after our home and our much loved 2 year old Weimaraner, Tommy aka Mr T.
Tommy is a very affectionate, people oriented boy who loves being around his humans and can struggle with separation anxiety, so he needs someone who is home most of the time and can give him plenty of company, attention and reassurance. He enjoys long beach walks, chasing his ball and spending time with his people.
Tommy has had a negative experience at doggy daycare, so we’re looking for someone who is happy to care for him in his familiar home environment. We’re currently working with a dog behaviour professional to help him build confidence and work through some of his anxieties. He can react to other dogs on walks, so someone confident handling a large, strong dog and willing to follow our guidance would be ideal.

Our home requirements are:

- Someone reliable, responsible and trustworthy who will treat our home with care and respect.
- A current police clearance and references would be preferred.
- Someone who is home regularly and can spend plenty of time with Tommy, rather than leaving him alone for long periods.
- Daily walks and ball play to keep Tommy happy and exercised.
- Following Tommy’s usual routine, feeding instructions and any guidance provided about his behaviour.
- Keeping the house clean and tidy, bringing in mail and taking care of the home while we’re away.
- Keeping us updated with the occasional message and photos of Tommy so we know he’s happy and settled.
Most importantly, we want someone who genuinely loves dogs and understands that Tommy is a sensitive, affectionate boy who needs patience, consistency and companionship. He’s a big boy with an even bigger personality, and finding the right person for him is our priority.
