About this house sitting position in South Yarra

Hi! I’m looking for a caring, reliable house sitter to look after my beautiful cat, Bluebell (also known as Blue), while I’m away on a long-awaited trip to Europe in December.

Bluebell is a gorgeous 10-year-old (11 in August) healthy indoor cat with a sweet but quite independent personality. She’s not the type of cat who will instantly jump into a stranger’s lap, but once she gets to know you, she’s very happy to accept pats and keep you company. One thing she does do from day one is greet you at the door when you come home with happy meows & rolling around on the ground excitedly, it’s one of my favourite things about her.

Her care is quite straightforward. She’ll need fresh food and water each day, plenty of love and attention, and someone who enjoys having a feline companion around the apartment.

Bluebell uses an automatic self-cleaning litter tray, so there isn’t any daily scooping required. The waste compartment just needs to be emptied and the litter topped up as needed (usually about once a week).

One thing to note is that Bluebell is a heavy shedder and groomer, so I’d really appreciate someone who doesn’t mind giving the apartment a quick vacuum each day or every couple of days. It’s only a small one-bedroom apartment, so it doesn’t take long at all, but it helps keep on top of the fur and keeps everything feeling fresh while I’m away.

The apartment is located in South Yarra, close to public transport, cafés, restaurants, gardens, parks and only a couple of train stops from the CBD, making it a great base to enjoy Melbourne over December/Summer. The apartment building is only a complex of 15 flats and is a quiet building where everyone is very respectful of each other so would appreciate someone being mindful & neighbourly whilst here.

Leaving Bluebell for three weeks is something I’m naturally a little anxious about, so finding someone caring, communicative and experienced with cats is really important to me. I’d love updates and photos while I’m away, it would give me so much peace of mind knowing she’s happy and settled.
