About this house sitting position in Strathalbyn

We are looking for a person or couple capable of caring for our two dogs ( who sleep inside at night) and are ok with our other animals and birds. We have rescued parrots and Lorikeets and also finches and budgies. Chickens too! Experience with horses would be an advantage.
We have a large garden but at this time of year hopefully we will have had some rain and the garden will be able to care for itself.
Heating is a wood stove which we find usually needs to be lit in the late afternoon. Depending on the length of the season it may not be needed during this time but if we suddenly drop from heat to winter you will need it.
I will discuss the other 15 animals with the chosen applicant. Apart from the dogs, all birds and animals are fed in the late afternoon only so you have the day to explore.
Strathalbyn is close to McLaren Vale and Langhorn Creek wine regions or to Mt Barker where just about everything is available. We have two chemists, supermarket, post office etc in town here and some excellent pubs and coffee cafes.
Our property is very quiet, but only 4 klm from Strathalbyn, nestled between horse ajustment and sheep paddocks. It is only 5 acres but you feel like you are part of everything around you. Read more...
