Looking for a Cat Lover – Inner Sydney House Sit

We are looking for a reliable, caring cat lover to stay in our creative and spacious one-bedroom home while we are away and care for our 4-year-old cat, Dante.

Our home is located in Camperdown, just a 10-minute walk from King Street, Newtown and Enmore, with easy access to great cafés, bars, pubs, restaurants, shops and the cinema. We are also right next to a park and oval, perfect for peaceful walks and enjoying some greenery in the middle of the city. There are plenty of buses nearby with direct access to the city, and both Stanmore and Newtown train stations are around a 15-minute walk away, making it easy to explore Sydney, including the beaches and other attractions.

The house is a creative, spacious one-bedroom home with timber floorboards, gas cooking, Wi-Fi, ceiling fans, a shared courtyard and free street parking. It's an older building with plenty of character and charm, so it will suit someone comfortable in a lived-in, character-filled home rather than a modern apartment.

The most important part of the sit is caring for Dante. She is a sweet and gentle 4-year-old cat who can be shy around new people and often hide initially. We're looking for someone patient, kind and experienced with cats who understands that trust can take a little time. Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys company and having someone around to keep her routine consistent.

Dante is an indoor/outdoor cat, and her care is quite straightforward. She will need feeding, fresh water, and to be brought inside each evening and kept indoors overnight. She has a litter tray, but cleaning is minimal as she generally prefers to do her business outside during the day. As my partner or I often work from home, Dante is used to having plenty of human company, so we'd love someone who can spend a reasonable amount of time with her each day, whether that's playing with her toys, giving her some pats, or simply providing the attention and reassurance she is used to while we're away.

Also worth noting: Dante is very much part of the household and usually sleeps on my bed at night. She may not do this with a new person, but it's something to be aware of / and ok with. :)
