We live in a double story home on 5 acres of native gardens about 15 mins -20 mins from Hervey Bay - all amenities are within this distance however there are some that are closer eg in nearby Toogoom or Craignish ( Golf course, Supermarket, Hotel, Restaurant, beach )- we have an elderly ( 14yrs) food obsessed black labrador & a small Papillon/terror cross who is also getting on in years but still has attitude & is quite lively - we also have a dozen hens & multiple other wild birds etc who visit & who we provide some food for each day - we also have X 5 bird baths around the property - two of these being towards the bottom of the property - I am highlighting this as our house is 100 feet higher than the bottom of the property with a gradual drop - this may be a deterrent to some depending on fitness levels - our older dog in particular, still likes a daily walk although no longer does the huge circuits he once did - we have a State forest nearby & usually take him there most days - there are multiple walking trails in the area for those who enjoy bush walking. Although we have a very large garden the only watering that would be required for sitters are multiple pots at the front of the house which we do X 2 weekly. Both dogs live inside & I will admit are a bit spoilt however are quite happy when we go to town etc or work in the garden, to sleep on their beds until we return providing of course the appropriate treat is given & they have been outside first.
I guess an animal lover who enjoys nature would most enjoy staying here - we have identified over forty different birds on our block & have multiple green frogs who also call it home in the various containers we have provided. Read more...
